I was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 17, 1967 to William and Sheryl Ponstein. I was raised in Grandville, Michigan and graduated from Calvin Christian High School in 1985. I graduated from Hope College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. I married my wonderful wife, Kristin VanderZwaag on June 30, 1989 and have been very happily married to her for 22 ½ years. Since then, God has blessed us with three amazing sons; Payton Marc on 10/27/92, Palmer Luke on 8/8/94 and Bryce Michael on 1/13/98.
I opened Georgetown Development, a real estate development company in 1989 and have been President of the company from then until present. I am also actively employed thru Unity Christian High School as the Freshman Football Coach and Varsity Assistant.
Although I was brought up in the church and attended Christian school I was not born again until 1997 through a small group bible study. Since then I have had a burning desire to know God more through His Son, Jesus Christ and to walk in His ways by setting captives free and serving the poor and the needy.
In the Spring of 2011 my wife and I started a house church which met on the last Saturday night of each month. Since then this ministry has grown and we are now feeling led by the Lord to move the ministry into a more full time capacity by meeting each week on Sunday.
